Barry Gray has specialized in the marketing and sale of residential architecture, historic properties and design-centric homes since 2000, first at the iconic Mossler, Deasy & Doe and now as Senior Partner at Deasy Penner & Partners.
He has represented both buyers & sellers of architectural & historic homes designed by early twentieth century icons Arthur & Nina Zwebell, mid-century masters Richard Neutra, John Lautner & Raphael Soriano, classic Southern California architects Richard Dorman, Ed Fickett, Donald Wexler & Gregory Ain, and numerous contemporary architects currently working in Southern California.
Although design & architecture first attracted him to real estate, expert guidance and service has become Barry’s passion, and his satisfaction. He has experienced the chaotic shifts of the marketplace and understands that the process can be emotional and confusing.
“Most people will only buy or sell property a few times in their lives, but they need to make decisions as if they are seasoned pros. When I can steer a client past pitfalls, negotiate for their needs, and protect them from bad decisions, I get to feel good about the work I do”.
And this focus on design and excellent service has turned out to be good business: in Silver Lake, for example, I’ve negotiated the highest ever dollar-per-square-foot sales of both a single family home and condo. I’m not a neighborhood specialist, I’m a service specialist and my experience selling unique architectural and historic homes, along with new construction, multi-unit, and even small commercial, has prepared me to face almost any listing or purchase challenge.
