A Los Angeles native, Scott raised private equity for tax deferred 1031 exchanges and was involved with the syndication of commercial real estate prior to joining Deasy/Penner. Scott held his Series 7 and 63 FINRA registrations, and currently holds his California Real Estate License. His broad background and industry contacts have enabled Scott to make key introductions, resulting in trusted relationships with significant high net worth individuals as well as members of the family office market segment.
Scott has now taken his knowledge of the Southern California Real Estate market to residential in order to help people find the right home, in the right location, at the right price point. Buying a home involves a unique merger of aesthetic, emotional and practical considerations, and as someone who combines a lifetime of personal experience in Los Angeles with a resume built on deals and negotiations with demanding and sophisticated investors, Scott is in a unique position to help people manifest their aspirations while utilizing his business skill set on their behalf during negotiations with agents and brokers. Scott’s goal is to make the process of buying a house as seamless as possible, allowing you to turn your dream house into your new home. Scott currently resides in Playa Vista and is active in the community.
If you’re selling your house, the first thing you need is a broker who understands the process and knows that a successful sale depends upon detailed preparation and thoughtful presentation. Scott presented us with a carefully organized plan that made certain we were in the best possible position before our house went on the market. He skillfully highlighted the mixture of our home’s classic 1920’s Los Angeles construction with our new, 21st century addition. He also made certain to prescreen potential buyers and to focus on the most viable candidates. That way, we knew the quality of buyer that Scott brought to the property and we could make a clear, informed decision about moving forward with the sale. The entire process was smooth from start to finish and we completed our sale in a manner that left all parties involved — sellers and buyers — pleased with the outcome. Beyond his ability to negotiate, Scott possesses an innate sense of how to sell a home, understanding the perspective of all parties involved. Scott represented himself, as well as deasy/penner, extremely well.
As first time home buyers, my wife and I knew that before we found the right house, we needed to find the right broker. Scott was the perfect choice. He helped us clarify our goals while focusing our search, and as a result we discovered a part of the city we had previously overlooked. Scott was actively engaged with us throughout the entire process, providing expert advice along with personal insight that kept us on track. With his ability to locate a wide array of properties, Scott uncovered our dream home before it had even been put on the market. We immediately acted on Scott’s advice and we closed at a favorable price. When you’re buying a home for the first time you’re not familiar with the process, and Scott kept us informed without overwhelming us, allowing us plenty of time to move in and get comfortable before the arrival of our first child. I’ve recommended Scott to my own family and friends, and would say the same to anyone seeking the perfect balance between personal support and a clear picture of what it takes for home buyers to locate and close on the home of their dreams.
“Scott recently handled the sale of our first home, a small Venice bungalow purchased at the height of the market that our family had out grown. We’d spend the better part of the past two years waiting for an uptick in valuations, meeting with brokers in search on a partner that understood our neighborhood and our home’s value. Added on top of that was a need for a new quality home large enough for our family in a desirable Westside area, a finite budget, and a second baby only months away — adding up to a monumental task.
Enter Scott. He promptly set forth strategies to achieve a profitable, well timed sale that capitalized on marketplace momentum in our neighborhood. He generated multiple offers and was able to place our sale in escrow in a matter of days, seamlessly keeping all details on schedule for a prompt close. Simultaneously, he began to guide the search for new properties that met our discerning requirements — vetting selections that spared us time and effort along the way. Once we identified the home we loved, Scott helped us win against multiple counter offers with a smartly written purchase offer. He guided us through the challenging lending environment to insure escrow demands were met. And finally, he beat a ticking clock by closing escrow on our new home with a month to spare before the arrival of the new baby.”

“When I first started my real estate search, I got connected with some really shady agents. Luckily, my boss connected me with his buddy Scott, and ever since then, my house hunting experience was nothing but pure pleasure. Scott was not only a beast when it came down to finding properties, and getting questions answered; he was also an expert negotiator when it became time to talk about closing costs and seller upgrades to my new place. As we went through the real estate process, Scott’s personality made him less of an agent, but more of a friend. Thanks to Scott (and my great interior design skills), I think I have one of the nicest units in my condo building, and got it at a lower price than some of my neighbors!”
