Predock_Frane Architects, 2008- Successfully blending two classic California building typologies; the courthouse and hillside house, this masterpiece is centrally located between the Pacific and the Santa Monica Mountains. The entrance opens to the breathtaking loft space combining the indoors and out through disappearing walls of Nana door systems. The main space is anchored by the Boffi kitchen plus a 2-story outdoor atrium overlooking a quiet arroyo. The lower level includes two generous guest suites sharing a spacious family/play room which spills into the terraced gardens. The upper level, an additional split-level penthouse, consists of a master suite and adjoining sitting room & terrace with a distant view of the ocean. No expense was spared in material choices and trades. Marmol Radziner designed and finished the oak built-in cabinetry throughout. The house also includes an additional office or 4th bedroom suite directed off the main entrance, for privacy, plus a two car attached garage.
