Here’s a Look at Sierra Madre’s 120-Year-Old Wisteria Vine

The world’s largest blossoming plant was on display for nearly 10,000 visitors at yesterday’s annual Wisteria Festival in Sierra Madre. Nicknamed “Lavender Lady,” the wisteria vine weighed around 250 tons when it entered the Guinness World Records in 1990. The vine started in 1894 and sits in the backyard of homeowner Nell Solt. Every year, the Solt’s open up their backyard to the public for the downtown arts and crafts festival.
