A proud Californian with over a decade of experience, Vanessa holds a Master’s degree from USC’s School of Architecture in Historic Preservation and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from California Polytechnic University. Vanessa prides herself on providing each and every client with the focus, discretion, and integrity that her clients have come to appreciate and expect. Driven by sense of place and commitment to service, Vanessa has built her business on helping her clients achieve their real estate goals while finding “home” in the unique housing landscape of Southern California.
Born into a family immersed in the film industry and urban revitalization, Vanessa learned to view the world through an aesthetic and creative lens that has informed and directed her career. Her passion for architecture, historic preservation, and property led Vanessa to create Historic Preservation Partners; a successful consulting firm of which she is the owner and co-founder. She is proud to have been responsible for countless landmark designations and Mills Act property tax contracts for her clients. Vanessa thrives in the nuances of historic property, knowing how to tap into each building’s greatest strengths and navigate its challenges. Vanessa utilizes her professional skill set, as well as her background in historic preservation and marketing to provide attentive and highly personalized service to accomplish her clients’ goals.
Vanessa chooses to hang her license at Deasy Penner Podley; a real estate firm with an established reputation for selling architectural, historic, and luxury estate properties. Equipped with an exceptional marketing and design studio, unwavering commitment to excellence, and an ethos of “home as art”, DPP dovetails perfectly with Vanessa’s focus and facilitates robust support for her clients’ individual needs.
Vanessa enjoys spending her free time volunteering both in her daughter’s school community and as a Girl Scout leader; camping and traveling; frequenting the Huntington Library and other cultural venues; and restoring the 1895 Folk Victorian home she shares with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
