John F. Galbraith, an architect who built in and around Pasadena, designed this house for a pharmacist and his family. The property is in North Kinneloa Ranch, a gated community named for the developer Abbot Kinney that was subdivided in the 1940s and has 41 houses. It is in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, six miles northeast of the center of downtown Pasadena, with views of the Los Angeles Basin, and two miles northwest of shopping areas in the Hastings Ranch neighborhood. The owners have occupied the home since 1963.
