During her time living in Los Angeles, Imani and her family have not shied away from the hectic traffic to enjoy all this city’s hidden jewels. She arrived nearly a decade ago, as her husband was beginning a new chapter as a corporate chef in LA’s prominent dining scene and soon their daughter was heading to pre-school. It was then that she fell in love with this city, driving around searching for the right neighborhood to raise their girl. After navigating corner to corner, she landed in the North Hollywood/Toluca Lake area. According to Imani, “We only had one car at the time, NOHO was practical, in a diverse area, and walkable. It was close to the train station and had nice parks for the baby.” Imani will provide the same level of individual thought to your family’s needs.
When looking for schools for the baby she educated herself on the several school systems and districts: both private and public throughout Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, and Santa Monica. Raising a bilingual child, she is also well versed in the many international schools and language-immersion programs that can be useful for LA’s broad international population.
As a former competitive swimmer, she is not averse to pushing through difficult situations, finding the right pace, and finishing strong. Imani spent her early years in Hyde Park, Chicago immersed in the city’s cultural offerings, from world-renowned art and science museums, architectural gems by Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies Van Der Rohe, to the University of Chicago’s gothic archways. After graduating college, Imani spent four years in Italy and Sicily, studying art history and Italian, working as a radio deejay, and mastering the gift of “La Dolce Vita”. She has since worked in the film industry and with artists and musicians before becoming a realtor.
