Deasy Penner Podley Welcomes Hannah Sloan
Hannah Sloan brings 15 years as a distinguished art advisor and curator to the buying and selling of design-centric and architecturally significant homes.
With a unique brand of vision and dedication, Hannah has gained a reputation as a trusted advocate for her clientele, helping them build cherished collections of art that grow in value while enhancing their daily lives. She brings this same level of advocacy and passion to her work in real estate. An art historian at heart, Hannah is interested in pursuing artful homes for her clients, while educating them about the cultural history of the communities where they will live. Having lived for 10 years in a mid-century modern home designed by architect Gregory Ain in the historic Mar Vista tract, Hannah is keenly familiar with the burgeoning neighborhoods of Mar Vista and nearby Palms, Del Rey and Culver West.
A Southern California native, Hannah grew up in San Diego, getting her first taste of real estate through her father’s property development company. She relocated to Manhattan in the mid 1990s to pursue her undergraduate studies at NYU and subsequently attended UCLA for graduate studies in Art History in the early 2000s.
She began her career in the arts as a director at one of L.A.’s premiere commercial galleries where she represented legends of the photography world and oversaw acquisitions of historically significant art by individuals and museums including LACMA, J. Paul Getty Museum, SFMoMA and the Tate Modern. After eleven years in this role, Hannah established her own gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica where she hosted exhibitions by emerging and mid-career artists from the Los Angeles area.
Since 2011 Hannah has also been curating exhibitions in tandem with non-profit organizations like the Motion Picture and Television Fund, whose high-profile annual galas raise money to support people in the Motion Picture industry in need.
