Named after one of Sierra Madre’s most beloved community members, The George Maurer Lifetime Service Award is given every year to a community member who has gone above and beyond in their commitment to servicing the neighborhood. Known for his years as Sierra Madre’s Mayor, his work as a volunteer firefighter, and his dedication to the City’s Board of Directors; George Maurer leaves an impressive tradition of community service that continues to this day.
The legacy of George Maurer lives on in the tight knit village of Sierra Madre, where this year, dpp’s very own Judy Webb-Martin has been awarded the Lifetime Service Award. Judy is the only person to receive every civic award bestowed upon an individual for community service in Sierra Madre! Between her involvement as president of the Sierra Madre Kiwanis, member of Sierra Madre Historical Society, and a member of Sierra Madre’s Civic Club; there isn’t much Judy doesn’t do! Her decades of devotion, passion, and leadership have inspired countless others. Her commitment to the service of the Village of Sierra Madre extends to the neighbors and clients she serves as a longtime realtor in the area. Judy’s work as a realtor has formed the fabric of the community just as much as her community service work. Thank you Judy Webb-Martin for all you do! Congratulations from all of us at deasy penner podley!
