Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Parker-Stanton.
Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a real estate agent and senior partner with Deasy/Penner & Partners, I bring over a decade plus of experience in real estate serving clients throughout Southern California. Although I live in the South Pasadena area, I also work in the Silver Lake, Eagle Rock, Altadena, Mount Washington, Glendale, Highland Park, Downtown LA, Hollywood Hills and Palm Springs areas.
I have a passion for mid-century modern homes and through the restoration of several of my own, I have developed a deep understanding and appreciation of this unique architectural style. My experience as an agent and a homeowner, as well as years working as a Stylist and Costumer for film, television and commercials, allows me to bring a depth of understanding and insight to the table for every client. Bringing that eye for design to the staging of my listings and aiding sellers in just the right amount of renovation to prepare a home for sale brings both my careers into perfect alignment. It also brings me in contact with fabulous vintage finds and a soon to be born online vintage store is in my future – bringing me full circle and rounding out all that I love to do.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Neither costuming or real estate are without their difficulties and both careers are reliant on markets, but the ability to be adaptive, continually learning, a good listener and working by referral from a great network has made me able to weather any situation or storm that comes my way. Resilience in life is key. With the advent of my parents aging I have had to take care of them which has grown my love of caring for the elderly and expanded my business helping Seniors prepare their homes for sale and moving on to the next chapter of their lives.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have been a Senior Partner at Deasy/Penner for the past seven years. We are not the largest brokerage, but we consider ourselves the best. Deasy/Penner is a premier real estate firm with a concentration on selling architectural, historic and luxury estate properties. With a focus on Southern California, Deasy/Penner brings decades of experience and unmatched expertise in sourcing and representing your home as art. I specifically focus on homes with design integrity in Pasadena and its surrounding areas.
I love real estate, design and helping people – not necessarily in that order. Fortunately, I get to do that every day by working hard to make my clients’ real estate dreams a reality. I aim to make the process pleasant and painless, and ultimately to turn clients into friends for life. I’m a modern thinker, design enthusiast, hand-holder and problem-solver — with a resource list that won’t quit. Whether getting homes ready for market, viewing and reimagining, or staging properties, I’m committed to ensuring each home shines through while maximizing my client’s bottom line and doing it all with style.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Chicago and then a small town in Central New Jersey, I loved books, playing outdoors with friends and learning. As a family, we traveled a lot and I’ve lived in England and Italy. If I wasn’t with friends then my nose was plastered in a book. College took me to Massachusetts and then afterwards, I settled in San Francisco and had a ball there. San Francisco is where my costuming career began and I met my husband of now 20 years of marriage (OMG). We moved to the Pasadena area from SF to pursue our film careers and bought and restored a mid-century home in the San Rafael Hills area. We quickly bought more homes to restore and I fell in love with homes, restoration and all aspects of design and how people live.
