When local artist Amanda Mears is not making large paintings in her studio, she can be found making her signature 2 x 3 inch small paintings all over Los Angeles, in private homes, and in the beautiful gardens at the Huntington in San Marino. Amanda loves to paint outside directly from nature because she feels connected with the landscape and it allows her to capture the true colors of light and shadow. When passersby began buying her miniature watercolors out of her sketchbook, Amanda set up MySmallPaintings.com to showcase her tiny art. Soon collectors began commissioning her to capture their homes and gardens in miniature. Amanda says, “It’s such a privilege to bring so much joy to people with my art – these small paintings mean that a favorite place or view can always be close at hand.”
You can find Amanda’s small paintings at MySmallPaintings.com or on Instagram and FaceBook.
