Where: 13061 Hartsook Street, Sherman Oaks

When: Sunday, November 6th from 1:00PM-4:00PM

Asking: $1,465,000

What: Tucked away in a subdivision idyllically called “Hidden Woods Estates” this 3-bed, 2-bath ranch dates to 1951. Built by prolific Valley developer William Mellenthin (1896-1979) and a modest variation on his own version of the classic Monterey Colonial. Like Eichler, Mellenthin homes have developed a cult following for their charm and scale.

In her first development/renovation project, designer Susan Devall had the good fortune to find a vintage Mellethin whose owners not only lived there since it was built, but had maintained it as well. The designer recently closed her eponymous Larchmont Avenue shop to concentrate on real estate design and staging, and her years of experience show through in this austere but chic renovation.

What We Love: The good bones are all still there– the house retains its romantic Mid-Century vibe but acquired some sensational new details, like the master bath, below.
