At Randy Young’s new photo exhibition viewers are transported back to the early days of both the Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica Canyon. The photographs, which are currently on display at Santa Monica Canyon’s Gallery 169, highlight the early landscape and development of the neighborhoods so dear to Young’s heart. Young was born and raised in the Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica Canyon, attending Paul Revere Middle School and Palisades High School. He would later go on to receive a degree in photography from Art Center College of Design. Young’s passion for both photography and historic preservation drove him to collect images of his community’s past. His exhibition is the product of four decades of this devoted collecting. On display are images ranging from small postcards to large panoramas over one hundred years old. Young’s unique collection is sure to be enjoyed by canyon natives and newcomers alike.
“Lost Santa Monica & Palisades Images…Found!” will be on view at Gallery 169 through June.
