The owners of this home commissioned Hagy Belzberg, an architect who was a protégé of Frank Gehry, to rebuild it from the ground up using steel-troweled plaster, glass and galvanized aluminum. The property is off Benedict Canyon, north of the Holmby Hills neighborhood and east of Bel Air. Mulholland Drive is about four miles north; Sunset Boulevard is roughly the same distance to the south.

The front door opens into a foyer with high ceilings. Beyond a partition is an open living area with Brazilian cherry floors and exposed beams that span the width of the space. At the center of the room is a gas stove on a poured-concrete platform; a wall of windows and sliding-glass doors faces the pool area outside.
